Co-founder & Academic Director
Raquel is an art historian and holds a master's in teaching Spanish as a foreign language from the Instituto Cervantes and the UIMP. She has spent twenty-two years teaching Spanish as a foreign language, fourteen of them in academic coordination and direction: she was head of studies at Camino Barcelona and at Mousai, and directed the Casa d'Oficis programme for the Ajuntament de Viladecans. At Iberia Language Academy she designs the curriculum and the course programmes, writes the assessments and trains the teaching team. She is an accredited DELE examiner at every level, A1 to C2, and an examiner for the LETRA diploma in Spanish for migrants. She belongs, in a personal capacity, to ASELE and AEPE. She has taught and lectured in Greece, Israel, Mexico and China. She directed Éliris, the Escola Pia de Barcelona's Spanish programme for migrants and refugees, and founded Unidiversia, a non-profit devoted to training people in vulnerable situations. Spanish and Catalan are her mother tongues, and she speaks English, Greek and French. Away from work: yoga, meditation and time with family and friends.
